Why Turn Three Times?

The title “Turn Three Times” is taken from a famous quote by the American humorist, newspaper columnist and actor Robert Benchley. There are two variations of the quote:

A boy can learn a lot from a dog: obedience, loyalty, and the importance of turning around three times before lying down.

and

A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down.

This echoes the theme of this blog, which is my stories about encounters with the animal kingdom. I hope that some lessons from our furry friends might be revealed along the way.

As for my own origin story, I am a young woman trying to make a career in the animal care industry.
